Museum Sint-Janshospital Damme (Saint-John's Hospital)

Location: Kerkstraat 33, 8340 Damme [gps]
Opening hours: see website museum [info]

This museum is established in one of Damme's most important historic buildings: the Saint John's Hospital.  This hospital has been erected in 1249!

In this marvellous monument, the museum itself was already set up in 1901.  It contains a great number of valuable artefacts.  Not only various pieces of furniture, paintings and religious objects are being displayed but also centuries-old household objects, stamps, coins, seals, medieval tombstones, stained glass, books, china,...  It's worth a visit!

At the same time you can also visit the richly decorated chapel of the hospital (when there is no church service)
